Strategic Advisory Services

For organizations who need more than conventional consulting.

WHO IS THIS FOR

The challenges Fleury Leadership works on are not typical consulting assignments. They sit at the intersection of strategy, geopolitics, institutional knowledge, and leadership, an area where generalist advisors rarely have the depth to be genuinely useful.

Our clients typically share one or more of the following:

  • A business or government navigating a regulatory or standards-related challenge with significant competitive, geopolitical, or financial implications.

  • An international or regional organization that needs to rethink its strategy, governance, or operational model.

  • An organization that wants to understand and leverage the strategic value of international standards, and lacks the internal expertise to do so.

WHAT FLEURY LEADERSHIP BRINGS

Unmatched institutional knowledge. After 35 years at ISO, culminating as Deputy Secretary-General, COO, and Acting Secretary-General and CEO, Nicolas Fleury has an unparalleled understanding of how international standards are developed, governed, and used as instruments of geopolitical and commercial power. There is no substitute for having been inside the system at its highest levels.

A practitioner's perspective, not a theorist's. Every recommendation Fleury Leadership makes is grounded in the experience of having led, operationally and strategically, all functions of the world's largest standards organization, including governance, commercial strategy, intellectual property, digital transformation, and institutional crisis management.

A genuinely global network. Nicolas Fleury has worked directly with governments, heads of state, ministers, and business leaders across more than 85 countries. He brings not only knowledge but access.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Fleury Leadership works exclusively on the basis of individual advisory mandates, there are no off-the-shelf products or standardized engagements. We tailor each mandate to the specific situation, objectives, and constraints of our client.

Engagements typically take one of three forms:

Strategic advisory mandate
An ongoing advisory relationship providing access to Nicolas's expertise, network, and judgment on a defined set of strategic questions. Typically structured over 6–12 months with regular meetings and on-call availability.

Project-based engagement
A focused mandate with a defined scope, deliverable, and timeline — for example, a governance review, a market access strategy, or a standards positioning analysis
